Operations Technology (OT) comprises of functionally aligned development teams who support critical firm functions in support of day to day Firm operations. OT develops strategic solutions that support key business processes, including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, and Tax Reporting. The Tax Technology department within OT, provides solutions in support of Operation’s processing of Transaction Tax, Client Tax Withholding, Doc expirations/renewals, and Client & IRS Tax Reporting. Tax Technology supports Wealth Management clients, Institutional Clients and International Tax.

The International Tax Unit (ITU) program within Tax Technology is looking for a senior technical lead to be an integral part of driving their multi-year International Tax program.

The ideal candidate should not only have the skills listed below but in addition should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who can lead a team and thinks strategically. The candidate should respond well to change and quickly grasp new concepts in a dynamic regulatory landscape.

This position is for ED for our International Client Tax Technology Group and performs a variety of technical architecture and leadership roles mainly in the Operations Technology (OT) Tax Technology area. The candidate will be responsible for working with multiple business areas/IT groups and leading major application development initiatives. The candidate will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from system definition to deployment.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

Leadership of the International Client Tax Technology Team in Mumbai

Ownership of implementation, design, and maintenance of Transaction Tax platform

Participation in Design of new features and code reviews

Direct interaction with the business users at all levels

Stake holder management

Build client relationships and manage delivery expectations

Knowledge sharing with our global team.

Partner with vendors to ensure high quality delivery

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Skills:

Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlet, JavaScript, AJAX, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, SQL, DB2, XML, JSON, DHTML, CSS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required

At least 15+ years of hands-on application development and delivery utilizing distributed technologies such as Unix, Java, J2EE Java framework etc.

Experience in the development of service oriented architecture application, good understanding of Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns and data structure algorithms.

Strong knowledge of Java Server Pages (JSP), DHTML and JavaScript

Proven technology architecture skills delivery high performance and high transaction volume distributed application

Experience with MVC patterned applications using Struts or Spring

Experience with writing SQL including stored procedures

Experience with Unix Shell and Python Scripting

Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments

Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions

Agile development practice

Provide overall project management, local leadership and be a mentor to the staff

Effective communication and presentation skills

Excellent collaboration and team skills

Other Desired Skills:

Websphere, RESTful WebServices, ExtJS 5.x, jQuery, Angular, Python

Knowledge of the Trade lifecycle and prior experience in Investment banking

Knowledge of Equity, Listed Derivatives (Options, Futures, ETFs), OTC Derivatives (Swaps, etc.) is an advantage

Exposure to functional/business knowledge about Tax Withholding & Reporting
